With all the hype surrounding the fabulous new TV series of ‘Puberty Blues’ I thought it would be great to be able to do some good work for people suffering from mental health issues like Jad did. So I’ve organised a tribute event in her memory at the Bondi Pavilion on Oct 13th thanks to the generosity of the Tamarama Rock Surfers Theatre Company who are in residence there. We’re going to screen the original film and Tony Hughes who played ‘Danny’ in the film is going to perform with his awesome reggae band ‘King Tide’. Jay Hackett (‘Bruce’) and Dean Dunstone (‘Seagull’) will also be in attendance as I hope will other cast members from both the film and the TV series (still working on that one!).
We’re also having a silent auction with some amazing items being gifted including an incredible underwater photograph by our DJ Anabelle Gaspar and a highly prized sculpture by the amazing Lionel Bawden. There is also a softboard to be purchased and other hot ticket items so stay tuned for the full list of goodies with all profits going to beyondblue.
